The Canning Reserve to Brimbank Park trail is a 7.2 km section of the Maribyrnong River Trail. The relatively less challenging slopes are perfect for beginners and casual riders like us. Unsealed roads under a canopy of trees along the Maribyrnong River provide a more natural and relaxing feel to the place.

What I like best about this trail is that it’s not very challenging but it has enough traction to raise your heart rate for a decent exercise. Take note that you will have to go back to Canning Reserve if you have your car parked in there, so it’s a total of 14 to 15 kilometres. On top of that, pedalling along the Maribyrnong River gives you that feeling of isolation and peace, considering it’s just around 25 minutes away from Melbourne CBD.

This trail starts at Canning Reserve so if you want to know a little more about the park, then please visit my previous blog here. It is worth checking especially if you have little ones.

Here are a few stills and videos that I have compiled during our ride:

I almost forgot. This place is like 5 minutes away from Highpoint shopping centre. So I had my favourite dumplings after the ride — best part as always. πŸ™‚

Have fun!
